Are you constantly skipping flossing and trying to fool your dentist about it? You are not alone. In fact, about 60 per cent of Americans either don’t floss daily or not at all, and a recent survey by the American Academy of Periodontology found that up to 27 per cent of American adults lie about their flossing habits when they’re placed under the spotlight of their dental chair.
Why People Hate It
It’s interesting to note that in the same survey, more than a third of the participants said they would rather endure unpleasant activities or situations—like cleaning the toilet, washing a great pile of dirty dishes, and waiting in a long line or a traffic jam—rather than floss. If you feel the same way as those people, you know how repulsive or bothersome flossing can be.
